ATLANTA (April 28, 2008) - With 25 years of service - a marathon by loyalty standards - Priority Club® Rewards, the first and oldest guest loyalty program, received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 20TH Annual Freddie Awards on April 24, 2008, in Phoenix, Ariz. Inside Flyer bestowed the honor on Priority Club for pioneering the first hotel loyalty program and establishing a standard of excellence with its innovative rewards, bonuses, benefits, services and earning opportunities.
The loyalty gurus behind Inside Flyer reasoned, "The launch of the Priority Club hotel loyalty program in 1983 gave meaning to the concept that loyal guests deserve to be rewarded. The program established a standard of excellence and, in a fundamental way, advanced the concept of loyalty marketing; a contribution that, 25 years later, continues to be recognized by professional peers, critics, the media and, most importantly, the traveling public."
In addition to the Lifetime Achievement Award, Priority Club Rewards, operated by IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)], took first place in the following categories:
"It's an honor to know the world's frequent travelers and the awards committee recognize our consistency and dedication to offering a truly customer-centric rewards program," said Don Berg, vice president, Loyalty Programs, IHG. "From the array of possibilities for point earning to our ever-expanding options for point redemption, including auctions, experiential rewards and Personal Shopper, we are making it easy for members to earn and redeem points for items and experiences that enhance their professional and personal lives."
