We don't like to boast, but we've won quite a few awards over the years. And we're very proud of all our award-winning hotels, brands, campaigns and people.

  • IHG won the 'Best Worldwide Hotel Group' at the 2008 Buying Business Travel Diamond Awards
    IHG was voted 'Best Worldwide Hotel Group' at the 2008 Buying Business Travel Diamond Awards by the magazine's readership of business travel buyers, managers and arrangers. The awards are seen as among the most valued and respected of all accolades, representing the views of the travel industry's most important customers - those who are responsible for securing the best service and value from suppliers.

  • IHG wins Gold Accessible Tourism Award at the Visit London Awards 2007
    IHG's commitment to making its hotel accommodation, restaurants and conference facilities accessible to all was recognised with a Gold Accessible Tourism Award at the Visit London Awards ceremony held at the IndigO2 on November 29.

  • IHG brands win two awards at the Business Traveller Awards 2007
    Express by Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts - awarded Best Budget Hotel Chain (awarded for the 7th time since 2000)
    InterContinental Hotels & Resorts - awarded Best Business Hotel Chain in Africa

  • Double Award-Winning Crowne Plaza Glasgow voted City's Best Hotel
    The Crowne Plaza Glasgow won Glasgow Hotel of the Year 2007 & Scottish Conference Hotel of the Year 2007 at the 4th annual Scottish Hotels of the Year Awards

  • Holiday Inn London – Bloomsbury wins M&IT industry award
    Holiday Inn London – Bloomsbury has won the Best Disabled Facilities Award, 'Accessibility for All', at the 2007 Meetings and Incentive Travel Industry Awards. The award recognises the outstanding accessibility and exemplary customer service that the hotel team offers to all its guests.

  • The Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals recognised IHG and Hudson Slaton Group at the 2007 MarCom international awards competition for re:serves, a green program that diverted more than 257 tons of bedding material from a bedding replacement program at 55 Candlewood Suites properties.

    The MarCom international awards recognise outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals. The bedding material was donated to 4,300 needy families around the country through a partnership with the National Furniture Bank.

Americas

  • HospitalityLawyer.com presented Wendell Couch, SVP, Global Risk Management, with the Hospitality Loss Prevention Lifetime Achievement Award,
    which recognizes a person who has committed their career to improving safety and security in the hospitality industry.

  • IHG's Report to the Community was honored by the League of American Communications Professionals with a Gold Award in the printed book/booklet division at the annual Spotlight Awards.
    In addition, the report was named one of the Top 100 Communications Pieces of 2007, ranking 21st overall out of a pool of more than 900 entries. A silver award was also given in the category of visual design.

  • IHG's Report to the Community received a Silver Quill award from the International Association of Business Communicators in the category of overall visual design.

  • The IHG New Hotel Public Relations program was awarded a Certificate of Excellence by the Public Relations Society of America's Georgia Chapter in the Marketing Business to Business category of The Phoenix Awards.
    The Phoenix Awards is a competition designed by the Georgia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) that recognizes projects and programs that demonstrate excellence in the public relations profession in Georgia.

  • Priority Club Rewards was named Program of the Year for the second year in a row at the 2007 Freddie Awards.
    Top honors were also won in the following categories: Best Bonus Promotion (Americas), for the fourth consecutive year; Best Member Communications (Americas), for the fifth consecutive year; and Best Website (Americas), for the third consecutive year.

  • The readers of Global Traveler magazine named Priority Club Rewards the "Best Hotel Rewards Program" in the annual GT Tested Awards for the second year in a row.
    More than 13,000 Global Traveler readers recognized Priority Club Rewards for its ease-of-use and out-of-the-box approach to loyalty, including having the widest variety of redemption options, offering the fastest way to Elite Status, and giving members the ability to redeem points at any hotel in the world, regardless of affiliation.

  • Hotel Experience Awards
    InterContinental The Barclay New York – awarded "Best Hotel for Business Service" for a New York hotel with more than 500 rooms.

  • Barbara Bahny David, Director, Public Relations, InterContinental The Willard, received the Aaron D. Cushman Award from the Society of American Travel Writers for Best Publicity for a Single Entity or National Brand.

  • InterContinental San Juan Resort & Casino was the recipient of the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau's Excellence Service Award for 2006-2007.
    This award reflects the highest percentage in satisfaction experienced by clients who have booked and held a convention at a particular hotel.

  • InterContinental San Francisco is named New Construction Deal of the Year by Hotel Business magazine.

  • Rumba at the InterContinental Boston was named as one of the "Best of the New" by Boston Globe Magazine.

  • InterContinental Chicago was awarded Merit & Distinction by the readers of Medical Meetings for being one of the top hotels in the country for medical meetings.

  • InterContinental Chicago was awarded the Premium Circle award by the readers of Financial and Insurance Meetings for being one of the top hotels in the country for financial and insurance meetings.

  • InterContinental Chicago was awarded the Inner Circle award by the readers of Association Meetings for being one of the top hotels in the country for association meetings.

  • InterContinental Chicago was awarded the Pinnacle award by the readers of Successful Meetings magazine.

  • InterContinental Chicago was awarded the Award of Excellence by readers of Corporate & Incentive Travel for being one of the top hotels in the country for corporate and incentive travel.

  • InterContinental San Juan Resort & Casino was the recipient of the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau's Excellence Service Award for the second quarter of FY 2006-2007.
    This award reflects the highest percentage in satisfaction experienced by clients who have booked and held a convention at a particular hotel. The InterContinental San Juan Resort & Casino received a satisfaction rate of 98.8%.

  • The readers of Global Traveler magazine named InterContinental Hotels & Resorts the "Best Domestic Hotel Chain" in the annual GT Tested Awards.
    To determine the winners, Global Traveler magazine conducted a comprehensive readership survey throughout 2006 – soliciting opinions from its eclectic readership base representing well-traveled business leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world.

  • The Crowne Plaza Moncton (New Brunswick, Canada) was awarded the Excellence in Business Award from the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce.

  • The Holiday Inn People Notice program was awarded the Gold-Level Chief Learning Officer Business Impact Award.

  • The Holiday Inn Major League Baseball ad campaign launch was recognized for excellence in public relations at the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International's (HSMAI) 2007 Adrian Awards with a Bronze Adrian for Partnership With a Major Brand.
    Regarded as the world's most renowned and prestigious advertising, public relations, and Web marketing competition, the Adrian Awards honor creative brilliance and best practices in hospitality, travel and tourism-related marketing.

  • The Holiday Inn Express Marketplace radio segment was recognized for excellence in public relations at the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International's (HSMAI) 2007 Adrian Awards with a Bronze Adrian for Feature Placement: Radio.
    Regarded as the world's most renowned and prestigious advertising, public relations, and Web marketing competition, the Adrian Awards honor creative brilliance and best practices in hospitality, travel and tourism-related marketing.

  • Candlewood Suites received the "Chain Leadership" award in design and décor from the editors of Lodging Hospitality magazine for the brand's "Comforts of Home" bedding package.
