We acknowledge the context in which our business operates and we proactively address these issues in order to deliver our core purpose of Great Hotels Guests Love.
Global climate change and the recent economic downturn are two of our biggest challenges. To address these issues, we are measuring and managing our environmental impacts, establishing new partnerships and working to ensure that we, and our business partners, operate responsibly.
We are innovating new and better ways to design, build and run our hotels. We are also refining our policies and pioneering new public-private partnerships. IHG does these things to meet the needs of society and effectively manage our business.
To ensure we make real progress with these issues, we are setting targets against all our major activities. We are aiming to make a night with IHG more carbon efficient. This objective will focus our efforts to reduce our impact on climate change and helps us to develop and run better hotels for our guests.
