The relationships IHG has with its employees and the way we take care of them is an integral component of our Corporate Responsibility agenda.
The way in which we influence our owners to manage their employees is also a responsibility which we take seriously. We continued to make good progress in 2008.
Over the past two years, we have developed a clear set of our values, the behaviours expected from all employees as well as a set of standards that characterise what employees can expect from IHG. These form the deal between IHG and everyone who works in the Group* and in 2008 we have been aligning our people processes to ensure that we can meet the required set of standards. This report highlights some of our key achievements that specifically support the Corporate Responsibility agenda.
* Franchised operations are not required, by nature of their contract, to engage employees in the deal.
