Haiqing Lu is Chief Strategic Relations Officer, Greater China, based in Shanghai.
Haiqing became Chief Strategic Relations Officer in May 2015, responsible for managing Public Affairs in the Greater China region. Additionally, he is in charge of Strategic Owner Relations, where he leads the development of an end-to-end owner relations strategy in partnership with a variety of functions in the business. Haiqing joined IHG® in 2013 as Vice President of Public Affairs, and moved on to be Vice President, Business Reputation and Responsibility in March 2014.
Haiqing has more than twenty years' experience in public affairs and corporate relations. He started his career in the Foreign Service with the Chinese government, before he joined Ogilvy China as the Public Affairs Director to provide strategic advice to Fortune 500 companies. Haiqing then assumed an Asia Pacific executive role on government affairs and communications for Baxter. Following that, he was the Corporate Relations Director for Diageo Greater China for seven years.
Prior to joining IHG, in 2011, Haiqing was Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Director of the Board and a member of the Executive Committee in Tesco China, in charge of Risk Management, Compliance, Corporate Responsibility, Government Affairs, as well as Internal and External Communications of the company.
