Chief Development Officer, Greater China
Kent Sun is Chief Development Officer, Greater China, based in Shanghai.
Kent oversees the development of IHG® properties in the region. Responsible for strategic planning, managing development initiatives and improving performance, Kent leads the Greater China Development Team as it continues to explore new avenues for growth and strengthens IHG’s brands across the region.
A hospitality veteran, Kent has more than 20 years of professional experience in the industry. His career in the industry includes serving as the Deputy General Manager of Sofitel Hyland Shanghai and as Director of Sales & Marketing for both Holiday Inn® Shanghai Downtown and Holiday Inn® Wuhan Riverside, before joining the IHG Greater China corporate office in 2004.
He was appointed Vice President of IHG Greater China Development in 2008, based on his excellent brand development performance, ability to develop strategic partnerships as well as his competent leadership skills. In January 2013, Kent was promoted to Chief Development Officer, Greater China.
Kent holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel & Tourism Management from Xi’an Jiaotong University and an MBA from the University of Hong Kong.
