Skills and experience
Elie was appointed Chief Executive Officer, Americas at IHG in February 2015, with nearly 15 years’ experience working in a major global franchise business. He joined the Group having spent six years as President and Chief Executive Officer of HMSHost Corporation, a global travel and leisure company, where he was also a member of the board of directors. Elie brings broad experience spanning hotel development, branding, finance, real estate and operations management as well as food and beverage expertise. Prior to joining IHG, Elie was Senior Advisor with McKinsey & Company from 2012 to 2014.
Elie is responsible for business development and performance of all hotel brands and properties in the Americas region. He also has responsibility for global customer development, providing oversight of the Global Sales organisation, as well as our owner management and services strategy. Elie brings a deep understanding of the global hospitality sector to the Board.
Elie is a member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association Executive Committee of the Board, and the US Travel Association CEO Roundtable. Previosuly, he served as an appointee to the Investment Advisory Council of the U.S. Department of Commerce. In addition, Elie serves as a member of the Global Advisory Council at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and is a board member of the Atlanta Committee for Progress.
