Hotel Indigo Makes Travel to Florida a Day at the Beach
Hotel Indigo is basking in the Florida sunshine as it expands its footprint across the state with the opening of four new locations in less than three months. Increasing the number of hotels from two to six, the boutique brand is making travel to Florida a breeze for business and leisure travelers that demand value without sacrificing service or style.
As one of the most popular leisure destinations in the U.S., Florida welcomed more than 82 million travelers in 2008, according to the Florida Commission on Tourism. Just in time for the summer travel season, Hotel Indigo now offers travelers an inviting and vibrant boutique experience in six destinations from Jacksonville to Miami, including:
- Hotel Indigo Ft. Myers River District (March 2009)
- Hotel Indigo Jacksonville Deerwood Park (January 2009)
- Hotel Indigo Miami Dadeland (August 2008)
- Hotel Indigo Miami Lakes (December 2008)
- Hotel Indigo Sarasota (November 2006)
- Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg Downtown North (February 2009)
To celebrate this milestone and give travelers a boost this summer season, Hotel Indigo is giving guests 2,000 Priority Club® Rewards bonus points for every qualifying stay at any location worldwide between now and August 31, 2009. To take advantage of this bonus offer, simply register at www.hotelindigo.com/IN2000. "In addition to tripling the brand's presence in Florida, we opened our first Hotel Indigo property outside the Americas in London Paddington, which will be followed by hotels in San Jose, Costa Rica and Shanghai. In the U.S., properties are scheduled to open in New York City, San Diego, St. Louis and Nashville by the end of 2009," said Janis Cannon, vice president, global brand management, Hotel Indigo. "Despite the economic downturn, we are successfully driving global growth of the brand and delivering a refreshing boutique experience to business and leisure travelers alike."
By late-summer, Hotel Indigo will also open Hotel Indigo Miami Beach, the brands seventh property in Florida and third in the Miami market.
Hotel Indigo Ft. Myers River District is located downtown in close proximity to shopping and attractions, including the historic Edison and Ford Winter Estates, Space 39 Art Gallery and the sandy beaches of Sanibel and Captiva Islands. The seven-story, 67-room property is the first new construction hotel for Ft. Myers' Historic River District in 20 years. The hotel will provide guests a casually-sophisticated ambiance with a rooftop pool and lounge with picturesque city views.
Hotel Indigo Jacksonville Deerwood Park opened in late January in Tapestry Park, Jacksonville's newest mixed-use development. Set amid the backdrop of a charming European-style village, the 96-room new-build property is within walking distance of upscale retail shops and gourmet eateries. The inviting lobby showcases beautiful art glass and lighting from Murano, Italy, and a curved wall creatively displays the story of Jacksonville through historic and modern art.
Hotel Indigo Miami Beach is a 135-room hotel conversion in the heart of the vivacious South Beach neighborhood, just two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean. The "modern cabana" design embraces the vibrant color palette of South Beach with citrus green, art deco turquoise and hints of magenta. Guests can enjoy a centrally located pool garden with dining terraces and private cabanas.
Hotel Indigo Miami Dadeland is located in the heart of the downtown Dadeland business center and within walking distance to the prestigious Dadeland Mall. The renovated 122-room boutique is near attractions including the Miami Metrozoo, Sunset Place and the University of Miami.
Hotel Indigo Miami Lakes, formerly the Don Shula's Golf Club, is a 86-room property located adjacent to the championship 18-hole Senator Golf Course and original Don Shula Steakhouse. Guests can easily enjoy activities on property or find shopping, entertainment and a variety of dining options on Main Street Miami Lakes. Nearby attractions include South Beach, Dolphin Stadium and the University of Miami, as well as multiple art galleries and Miami's theater district. The hotel is located on the site of the original Don Shula's Golf Club and near Dolphin Stadium and the University of Miami.
Hotel Indigo Sarasota, located in the heart of the Theatre and Arts District, was the brand's first hotel to open in Florida in 2006. Guests at the Sarasota property can play on the pristine beaches of Siesta Key and shop at the famed St. Armands Circle.
Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg Downtown North is a conversion of the historic Heritage Hotel. Built during the 1920's, the 76-room boutique hotel has a Mediterranean feel with early American influences. The property is centrally located in downtown St. Petersburg just two blocks away from Tampa Bay's marinas and parks.
All properties feature signature Hotel Indigo standards including inviting guestrooms with plush bedding, hard-surface flooring with area rugs, oversized photo murals of local imagery, and spa-inspired showers.
