InterContinental returns to Russia with the opening of InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya

InterContinental Hotels Group’s (IHG) luxury brand returns to Russia after a decade away with the opening of InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya at the end of this year.

The hotel is situated on Russia’s most famous street and is a couple of minutes from important Moscow landmarks like the Kremlin and Red Square. Thirty minutes from Sheremetjevo international airport and within walking distance of four of Moscow’s metro stations, the hotel is an ideal base for both business and leisure travellers.

Owned by Business Centre on Tverskaya LLC and managed by IHG, InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya is part of a new business complex. The 203 room hotel has 16 junior and executive suites, along with three penthouse suites named after famous Russian ballet dancers Galina Ulanova, Isadora Duncanand Vaslav Nijinsky.

The hotel has 10 meeting rooms spanning over 600 square metres and a ballroom for private dining and events. The spa is scheduled to open early next year and will house a gym.

The 126 seat Chekhonte restaurant serves traditional Russian cuisine with a European twist. The P-Square lounge bar is situated in the lobby, serving cakes and pastries during the day and cocktails at night.

InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya combines classic Russian design with a contemporary feel, inspired by Moscow’s city skyline. All rooms pay homage to the local architecture and culture and include features such as cog shaped reading tables, reflecting Russia's industrial history.

InterContinental is the world’s most international luxury hotel brand with hotels in more than 60 countries. InterContinental has been on the scene for 60 years.

Oliver Horn, general manager, InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya, comments: “We’re in the heart of Moscow which is the perfect location for our guests because they can take in the local sights and sounds. Our guests can discover this fascinating city through our concierge who has the local expertise to help them experience Moscow as the locals do."

There are 170 InterContinental hotels around the world and 59 in the development pipeline which will open over the next three to five years.
