IHG signs contracts for four new hotels in Germany

Hotels planned in Friedrichshafen, Offenbach, Stuttgart and Lübeck

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world’s largest hotel companies, continues to grow in Germany. It has signed contracts with Tristar Hotel & Management GmbH for the Holiday Inn Express Friedrichshafen Nord and the Holiday Inn Offenbach City Tower, with Foremost Hospitality for the Holiday Inn Express Stuttgart City Hauptbahnhof and with Pandox GmbH for the Holiday Inn Lübeck.

The Holiday Inn Express Friedrichshafen Nord, near the airport at the corner of Allmannsweilerstrasse and Rheinstrasse, will have 120 rooms and four meeting rooms. The Holiday Inn Offenbach City Tower in Berliner Strasse will offer 206 rooms and three conference rooms, a fitness room and the Sky Bar on the top, 32nd floor of the building. The Offenbach hotel is the second project in the Frankfurt area in which IHG is converting office space for hotel use.

Three hotels have now been agreed as a part of the existing franchise agreement with Tristar Hotel & Management GmbH, along with the Holiday Inn Berlin O2 world. The agreement provides for opening a total of 15 new Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels throughout Germany by 2020.

Holiday Inn Express Stuttgart City Hauptbahnhof in Wolframstrasse will have 155 and the Holiday Inn Lübeck in Travemünder Allee 158 rooms. It will be housed in what is currently the Scandic Lübeck hotel building.

The hotel in Lübeck is scheduled to open in the first half of 2013, the hotels in Friedrichshafen, Offenbach and Stuttgart in 2014.

IHG has 69* hotels in Germany, of which 56 belong to the Holiday Inn brand family. The company has 14* hotels in the pipeline in Germany.
