IHG ANA announces ANA Holiday Inn Kanazawa Sky in spring 2014

IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan and Kanazawa Sky Hotel today announced the agreement for ANA Holiday Inn Kanazawa Sky. Currently the Kanazawa Sky Hotel, the 100-room hotel sits in the centre of Kanazawa city on the Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan. It is due to be refurbished and rebranded by the spring of 2014.

Kanazawa is a popular tourist destination renowned as one of most beautiful ‘Castle City (Jyoka-machi)’ in Japan, as well as a Michelin two-star travel destination. Conveniently located near Kanazawa’s central commercial district of Musashigatsuji, ANA Holiday Inn Kanazawa Sky will be walking distance to and from the Kanazawa train station and downtown, near to tourist attractions like the Kenrokuen garden, one of Japan’s three most famous gardens, the 18th century Omi-cho Market and historic Nagamachi Samurai district underneath of Kanazawa Castle, where Samurai and their families used to reside. Kanazawa is also famous for its traditional 16th century culture with its Kutani porcelain, traditional Kaga style cuisine, Kaga Yuzen kimono, gold leaf craftwork and tea ceremony confectionery.

In addition to its guest rooms, banquet rooms and restaurants, the ANA Holiday Inn Kanazawa Sky will inherit the strong and renowned brand standards of the iconic Holiday Inn. The brand celebrated its 60th anniversary last year across 96 countries and has grown to 3,439 hotels worldwide across the Holiday Inn brand family, comprising Holiday Inn hotels, Holiday Inn Resorts, Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn Club Vacations.

The ANA Holiday Inn Kanazawa Sky also adopts the great customer confidence and trust in the service that guests expect of ANA Hotels, a leader in hospitality since 1974.

"Tourism is a major economic driver in Kanazawa,” says Mr. Motoki Ito, President of Kanazawa Sky Hotel. “We are excited at our partnership with IHG ANA and to be part of the Holiday Inn family, and have no doubt the partnership will deliver even more guests from in and around Japan, as well as from other parts of Asia.”

“Kanazawa is one of the more popular travel destinations in Japan,” said Jan Smits, Chief Executive Officer, Asia, Middle East & Africa. “Japan is expected to welcome more than 10 million visitors from overseas this year and we have no doubt that the strength of the Holiday Inn brand and our global scale and systems will help draw these travellers to the ANA Holiday Inn Kanazawa Sky.”
