IHG expands in Kazakhstan with the signing of Holiday Inn Express® Astana

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has announced the signing of Holiday Inn Express® Astana in the capital of Kazakhstan. It will be the fourth IHG hotel in Kazakhstan and the first Holiday Inn Express® in the country. Opening in 2018, the hotel will operate under a franchise agreement with Fido Estate LLP.

The new Holiday Inn Express Astana will be located in the Yesil district of Astana on Turan Avenue which links the central business district of Kazakhstan’s capital with its international airport. The city’s major leisure attractions, including the Astana Arena and Khan Shatyr Entertainment Centre, as well as government and administrative offices including the Palace of Independence and the House of Ministries, are within a short journey.

The 224-room hotel will have a lobby bar and small conference room for business meetings. For those travelling by car, the hotel will offer parking.

The new hotel will feature the Holiday Inn Express brand’s Next Generation guest experience that has been developed to meet the changing needs of today’s short stay smart traveller, who appreciates functional and thoughtful design tied in with an efficient and friendly service. Guests will enjoy the hotel’s most innovative and smart technology at every stage of their stay, including a better more comfortable night’s sleep, a functional and flexible place to work and relax in the room, and a lobby that provides a welcoming space to relax or meet with friends or colleagues.

The Holiday Inn Express Astana will be the 6th hotel under this brand in the pipeline for Russia, the CIS and Georgia, and the fourth IHG-branded hotel in Kazakhstan. There are currently 23 IHG hotels open across Russia, Georgia and the CIS, and a further 22 in the pipeline*.
