IHG Hotels & Resorts Highlights Key Hotel Openings in Greater China in Second Half of 2026
2 July 2026, Shanghai – IHG Hotels & Resorts will expand further across Greater China in the second half of 2026, with a series of new hotel openings across major cities, transport hubs, and leisure destinations.
The openings span luxury & lifestyle, premium, and essential brands, reflecting a diversified portfolio designed to meet a wide range of travel needs across the region.

The following highlights represent a selection of upcoming openings across key segments and destinations.
Key Gateway and Urban Hub Openings
IHG will further strengthen its presence in major gateway cities and transport-linked locations.
Upcoming openings include InterContinental Shenzhen ICSZ (International Communication Center Shenzhen), InterContinental Taipei, Holiday Inn Shanghai NECC (National Exhibition and Convention Center), as well as Holiday Inn Express properties in Shenzhen Bay, Shanghai North Bund Riverside, and Beijing Daxing Xihongmen.
These properties reinforce the Group’s presence in high-traffic urban markets, supporting demand from business, convention, and short-stay travelers. They also enhance IHG’s ability to offer consistent brand experiences across key connectivity-driven destinations.
Expansion of Lifestyle and Conversion-Led Brands
The second half of 2026 will also see continued development of IHG’s lifestyle and conversion-focused brands.
Garner Hotels, including upcoming openings in Chongqing Jiefangbei and Wuxi Qingming Bridge, will continue to expand in the conversion segment, offering flexible and efficient hotel solutions for hotel owners while maintaining consistent brand standards.
Atwell in Guangzhou Pazhou, Nanjing Xinjiekou, and Hangzhou Wulin will further grow IHG’s lifestyle offering in key urban centers, providing contemporary stays designed for domestic travel demand. These hotels are positioned within high-activity city districts, aligning with demand for more experience-led and locally tailored accommodation options.
Destination-Driven and Experience-Led Openings
IHG will also continue to develop hotels shaped by local culture, design, and guest experience.
Kimpton Nine Trees Shanghai will bring a design-led lifestyle concept to Shanghai’s emerging cultural district, combining art and hospitality in a setting that connects with the city’s evolving creative scene.
In addition, Hotel Indigo in Jingdezhen and Quanzhou Ancient Town will draw inspiration from local cultural heritage, incorporating regional identity into design and guest experience, while Crowne Plaza Suzhou Taihu will strengthen the Group’s presence in leisure destinations. EVEN Hotel Jingdezhen will introduce a wellbeing-focused stay experience, reflecting growing interest in balanced and wellness-oriented travel.
IHG currently operates 14 brands in Greater China, with more than 1,500 hotels open and in the pipeline across more than 200 cities.
