05.10.2026 (London, UK): IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has reached a major milestone for its Luxury & Lifestyle brand, Hotel Indigo, with the opening of its 200th hotel worldwide.

Hotel Indigo has experienced significant growth in recent years, doubling its global footprint from 100 open hotels in 2019, to 200 open hotels today. This expansion has brought the brand to must-visit destinations around the world, strengthening its presence in key cultural, urban, and resort destinations. Reflecting continued strong guest and owner demand, IHG has another 134 Hotel Indigo properties in its development pipeline.

Since launching in 2004, Hotel Indigo has established a distinctive position in the lifestyle space, bringing neighbourhood spirit to life in every hotel. From design and dining to local storytelling and immersive experiences, no two Hotel Indigo properties are the same – each inspired by the culture, character and history of its surroundings. Whether guests are searching for relaxation on a solo trip, fulfilment in business travel, or indulgence on a family vacation, the Hotel Indigo brand promises travellers vibrancy, connection, and opportunities for exploration.

Vicki Poulos, Vice President, Luxury & Lifestyle brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Reaching 200 open hotels is a significant moment for Hotel Indigo and a testament to the strength of the brand. As The World’s Neighbourhood Hotel, it celebrates how guests can discover, or rediscover, some of the most inspiring and culturally rich neighbourhoods in and outside of our hotels across the world. From the very beginning, Hotel Indigo has been about celebrating the individuality of places, of people and of stories – and for our guests, it isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a reason to travel, a destination all on its own.”

Hotel Indigo properties can be found across more than 30 countries, from vibrant city centres to emerging neighbourhoods and resort locations. Over the last two years, the brand has debuted in the Caribbean with Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman, Portugal with Hotel Indigo Albufeira, and Peru with Hotel Indigo Lima Miraflores.

Global expansion continues at pace, with notable openings, signings and upcoming debuts across the Americas, EMEAA and Greater China. In the Americas, Hotel Indigo recently celebrated the opening of its first property in Turks & Caicos, Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos Grace Bay, alongside new properties including Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortes and Hotel Indigo Tijuana Downtown in Mexico and Hotel Indigo Raleigh in North Carolina. Key signings in the region include Hotel Indigo Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

In Europe, Middle East, Asia & Africa (EMEAA) recent openings include Hotel Indigo Bangkok Thonglor, Thailand, Hotel Indigo Gloucester – The Forum, UK and Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherd's Bush, UK. Recent signings include Hotel Indigo Phuket Nai Yang Beach, Thailand, and a first signing in Egypt, which will also feature Hotel Indigo's first branded residences globally. Looking ahead to next year, Hotel Indigo Riyadh Al Olaya will mark the brand's debut in Saudi Arabia.

In Greater China, the brand recently celebrated the opening of Hotel Indigo Ningbo and upcoming openings include Hotel Indigo Chongqing Chaotianmen and Hotel Indigo Jingdezhen Taoxichuan.

As the brand continues to evolve, Hotel Indigo stays true to its founding idea: creating stylish, welcoming hotels that feel unmistakably local - wherever in the world they are.
