The Revelation of Regent Spa & Wellness: An all-new well-being concept designed to elevate above the noise
WINDSOR, London – February 2026 – IHG is continuing its reimagining of the Regent brand with the introduction of Regent Spa & Wellness – a new global concept guided by the clear intention to elevate guests above the noise. Exhibited at selected Regent hotels and resorts, this new global concept grounded in sensorial wellbeing lays a powerful pathway to new personal heights. Through treatments, practices and spatial design, Regent Spa & Wellness supports guests to present the very best version of themselves.
Regent Bali Canggu embodies the first example, with future openings in Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur and Kyoto to follow within the next five years. Each expression demonstrates a unique interpretation of the Regent Spa & Wellness concept, designed by IHG’s dedicated team of wellness experts, Raison d’Etre. Regent Spas combine ancient impact with grace and decadence to craft mystical, sensorial and emotionally resonant spa journeys, which begin quite simply with the ringing of a bell.
Tom Rowntree, Vice President of Global Luxury Brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts said: “Wellbeing is increasingly integral to how and why we travel. Through Regent Spa & Wellness we are introducing extraordinary new ways for our guests to optimise and excel in how they feel. This new concept is a natural extension of the work IHG has been doing to reimagine Regent for – and inspired by – today’s most discerning guest. Regent Spa & Wellness applies the expertise of Raison d’Etre to bring a remarkable new concept to our upper luxury guests. I am excited by the power it has to deepen the outlook we share – that life is at its best when we rise above the noise – both in Bali and beyond.”
A Stimulating Sanctuary.
A Secret Arrival begins the Regent Spa & Wellness experience as the guest steps through a dramatic entrance and is enveloped within an otherworldly environment. The octagon, representative of rebirth and eternal life, serves as a guiding compass alluded to in spatial design intentionally to maximise energy flow. Visual art is used to stimulate unexpected relaxation and transport guests into another dimension that stands in beautiful contrast to the outside world.
In Kuala Lumpur, this first impression will happen immediately as the guest arrives into an octagon-shaped arrival space before transitioning through to the main reception. This first impression sets the tone for the journey ahead where each step unfolds gradually and with intention.
Every Sense Elevated.
The Regent three-step treatment journey starts before a treatment even begins through The Reset, a signature meditative sound therapy, experienced within pod-like private waiting areas. This practice is purposefully designed to slowly block the senses, inviting the mind to slow and the body to still. In resort locations like Regent Bali Canggu, The Reset takes place within traditional wooden Balinese-style cabanas and is soundtracked by a unique open-eyes, self-guided meditation and sound experience by OPO Studios. In contrasting urban setting like Regent Jeddah, light, sound and technology will reinterpret this same philosophy.
The Reset practice guides guests into a dreamy state of surrender in readiness to receive fully the therapies to follow. These unfold through a carefully curated flow, combining healing gemstones, soothing aromas, restorative light frequencies, and vibrating crystal energy to intentionally foster a profound connection to the self.
Anna-Cari Gund, Managing Director of Raison d’Etre, said: “We believe that when the mind is stilled, the senses awaken – and in this amplified state, guests can feel more, experience deeper, and leave truly transformed. This journey begins by resetting the guests’ state, to then elevate each sense. Regent Spa & Wellness turns traditional spas on their head. Gone are traditional neutral pallets, candled corridors and run of the mill relaxation rooms and in their place, colorful palettes, visual art paths and energy baths. Our aim is to bring energy to our guests that takes them to new personal heights, all within mystical, otherworldly spaces and through therapeutic experiences that follow an intelligent formula. We want guests to feel as though they are entering a whole new dimension which feels secretive, mystical and elegant. One where they feel more, sense more and experience more.”
A gentle reawakening concludes treatments whereafter the guest transitions into the Relax Dome. In Kuala Lumpur, rich materials, soft forms and glowing flickers from a central fire pit anchor this visually soothing space in a sense of warmth, comfort and safety before the guest departs renewed and inspired.
The Beauty of Contrasts.
Movement and exercise environments of a Regent Spa & Wellness harness The Beauty of Contrasts, an idea based on the relationship of opposing yet complementing forces of Yin and Yang. This magical interplay is presented through calming yogic and meditative movement in juxtaposition with higher intensity fitness, each conducted in spaces featuring colours, materials, temperatures, and equipment to mirror these contrasting energies.
Anna-Cari Gund, Managing Director of Raison d’Etre, adds: “Finding the balance between active and passive provides a secret to reaching higher levels of wellbeing. Yin and Yang do not exist outside of each other, but rather they reside within each other and must be kept in proper balance. This means, if there is Yin, there is always Yang and neither exist alone. This sentiment mirrors how we have approached wellness for Regent. If there is active, there is always passive. It is this balance that defines how Regent Spa & Wellness creates good health and emotions.”
The World’s First Regent Spa & Wellness.
Regent Bali Canggu debuts the world’s first Regent Spa & Wellness. This coastal haven rides a new wave onto the shores of Bali’s surfer silhouetted Southwest coast where between the Indian Ocean and terraced hills of Balinese rice fields, 150 oceanside rooms and suites stand in perfect equilibrium.
Here, Regent Spa & Wellness serves as a sanctuary of serenity and stimulation, drawing from Indonesia’s wellness legacy and today’s modern lifestyle to offer a curated collection of restorative therapies and rejuvenating hydro-wellness facilities.
Signature treatments include The Massage Revolution, performed on a warm quartz sand bed from Gharieni where deep pressure and neroli essence is applied to the body. Taking this further, The Crystal Cure is designed for the soul seeker and combines scrub and massage techniques with crystal energy and sensibly selected essential oils unique to each guest, whilst The Healing Zen, specifically designed for a stressed mind, aligns rhythmic touch, conscious breath and warm stones.
For younger guests and responding to the rise in multi-generational travel, the Together Massage nurtures quality time for child and parent in its purest form. This side-by-side soothing massage is thoughtfully adapted to suit the needs of younger guests with the intention of encouraging restful sleep. And finally, The Facial Revolution deploys a powerful fusion of botanical actives from Kerstin Florian, amplified with LED light therapy, and EMS technologies.
Wellness extends beyond the Regent Spa environment to infuse Personal Havens throughout hotels and resorts. True to this Regent hallmark, Personal Havens offer private hideaways for individuals to cocoon, meditate and reset in solitude. In Bali, guests are invited to connect with the Framed Views of their coastal and verdant surroundings through an immersive meditation and sound journey combining eyes-open breathwork with location-based soundscapes, which blend analogue and digital synthesizers with organic textures and live instrumental elements.
New Heights on the Horizon.
Following Bali, further examples of Regent Spa & Wellness will be demonstrated at Regent Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, the first Regent hotel in the Middle East, which will open later this year occupying one of the city’s most prestigious waterfront locations with uninterrupted views of the Corniche. Its Regent Spa will occupy 1,500 square meters, complete with dedicated areas for ladies and gentlemen, indoor and outdoor pools and a 200-square-meter fitness club.
Regent Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia will follow in 2027, with its Regent Spa suspended in the sky on the 31st floor, truly elevating guests above the noise. Thereafter, Regent Kyoto in Japan will open in 2028, set within a historic garden meticulously landscaped over a century ago by the esteemed Kumakichi Kato.
