With the travel and tourism industry playing a vital role in economic growth and accounting for one in nine jobs globally, IHG Academy is helping more people access diverse career pathways and transition into employment through its IHG Career Launcher.
In 2025, hotels across multiple countries provided work placements, internships and apprenticeships with practical, hands-on experience and clear progression into long-term careers in hospitality.
In the UK, we partner with the King’s Trust to help young people take practical steps towards employment by building confidence, skills and real connections with employers. The King’s Trust supports people aged 11 to 30 in developing the capabilities they need to move into work, education or training. In Greater Manchester, we supported 14 young people through a focused two‑day employment programme that combined interview preparation, skills‑building and direct engagement with hiring managers. As a result, we helped them take their first steps into careers in hospitality. Skills training initiatives like this help strengthen communities, foster inclusive growth and develop the next generation of talent in the hospitality industry.
