Introducing voco Zeal Exeter Science Park

In 2023, we were proud to introduce voco Zeal Exeter Science Park in partnership with Zeal Hotels. Scheduled to open in early 2025, it has been designed to align with the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Framework Definition of the UK Green Building Council and has achieved a BREEAM Outstanding rating at the design stage. In its construction, Zeal Hotels will use passive house principles to minimise operational energy use and a fabric first approach to minimise its environmental impact. On-site solar PV will be installed on the roof and south, east and west facades, providing the majority of the hotel’s renewable energy, with the rest supplied by alternative renewable sources. The hotel’s sustainable design minimises embodied carbon (with residual emissions to be offset upon opening of the hotel), and helps to reduce water usage through the implementation of sustainable urban drainage systems.
